You followed the crowd, so loud and wide,
Thinking their cheers meant they stood by your side.
You laughed at jokes that bruised your core,
Just to be liked a little more.
You dimmed your fire to match their shade,
Broke your own rules for friendships made.
You wore a mask and played along,
Till you forgot where you belong.
You ran with ten, yet walked alone,
Applause was loud, but love was gone.
You helped them win, you took the fall,
But no one caught you when you stalled.
The crowd moves fast, with fleeting breath,
They praise today, tomorrow forget.
They like your post, not who you are
They’ll vanish when you’ve gone too far.
So stand alone, if that is true,
Your peace is worth far more than “view.”
Don’t trade your soul to please the street;
Approval fades, but scars repeat.
Moral
Don’t lose yourself to be accepted by others, what they clap for today, they may curse tomorrow. Be real. Be wise. Be whole.”
